Football to Host Gold Game This Saturday

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata football team kicks off its 2015 season this Saturday, September 5 at 12 pm at Knox Stadium when they host Grove City. The Eagles will wear gold jerseys and pants which is all to raise awareness for a special cause.

The organization Caring For Kids with Cancer (CFKC) will be selling t-shirts at the entrance to Knox Stadium to help benefit children with cancer and their families. The shirts will be $10. The group raised $1,800 last year and hopes to raise or exceed $1,000 this year.

A percentage of money from the sale of the shirts will go to aid the family of 14-year-old Abigail Schmader, who is the cousin of Eagle defensive back Nick Bonavita. Abigail was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (AR), which is one of the most aggressive forms of childhood cancer.  The money raised will help cover treatment costs and other medical expenses.

Anyone interested in purchasing a shirt before the game can contact John Bufalini at bufalja13@juniata.edu. To learn more about CFKC, go to caringforkidswithcancer.com
