Juniata Football Selected Seventh in Centennial Conference Poll

LANCASTER, Pa.- The Centennial Conference released its 2015 Preseason Football Poll on Wednesday afternoon. Juniata has been selected to finish seventh out of 10 teams.

 

The Centennial preseason rankings are voted on by the head coaches and sports information directors of the member institutions.  Juniata earned 65 points to edge out Dickinson at 62 points.  Susquehanna and McDaniel placed ninth and 10th with 41 and 19 points, respectively.  

 

Johns Hopkins was voted to finish first for the seventh straight year.  The Blue Jays earned 161 points with 17 first place votes.  Muhlenberg was right behind the defending champs with 144 points and three first place votes of their own.  Ursinus came in third with 122 points. Moravian (97) and Gettysburg (96) are separated by one point with Franklin and Marshall tallying 93 points for sixth place.

 

Juniata opens the 2015 season at home in a non-conference contest against Grove City on Saturday, Sept. 5 at noon.  The Eagles play their first Centennial game on the road when the head to Dickinson on September 12. The 2015 conference home opener will be against the Bullets on September 19 at 1 p.m.
