  • Four Juniata Football Players Inducted Into NFF National Honor Society

    IRVING, TX- Four members of the Juniata football team earned membership to the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society. The organization recognizes football student-athletes from every division who have maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA while being a starter in their last year of eligibility.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Senior offensive lineman Frank Marin (Whitestone, N.Y./Holy Cross) will have the opportunity to extend his season by two games. Marin has been selected to participate in two upcoming Senior Bowl games this month.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Three Juniata football players were recognized by USA College Football on Wednesday. Senior running back Deonte Alston (Bel-Air, Md./Patterson Mill), junior linebacker Anton Morrow (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boling Springs), and senior cornerback Demetrius Floyd (Coraopolis, Pa./West Allegheny) all received Honorable Mentions.

    LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference announced its All-Conference teams on Tuesday. Junior wide receiver Kirby Breault (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) and senior offensive lineman Frank Marin (Whitestone, N.Y./Holy Cross) were both named to the Second Team. In addition, senior cornerback Demetrius Floyd (Coraopolis, Pa./West Allegheny) was the Eagle representative for the All-Sportsmanship team.
  • Susquehanna Claims Goalpost with 24-17 Win over Juniata in Season Finale

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. Juniata and Susquehanna battled once again in the annual Goalpost Game at a cold and windy Knox Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders scored late in third quarter to break a 17-17 tie and held on for a 24-17 victory and takes the Goalpost for the first time in three years.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The 55th annual Goalpost Game between Susquehanna and Juniata football will be this Saturday at Knox Stadium. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. It will also be Senior Day and the Eagles will honor their 15 graduating seniors prior to the game.

    BETHLEHEM, Pa.- Host Moravian held a 35-7 lead at the half as it cruised to a 42-10 win over Juniata on Saturday afternoon at Rocco Calvo Field. The win, which is the Hounds’ sixth in a row, improves their record to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in the Centennial Conference. Juniata drops to 3-6 overall and 2-6 in the Centennial.

Running backs Deonte Alston (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill) and Matt Lehr (Dover Pa./York Catholic) linebacker Jonah Plymire (York, Pa./Central York) and long snapper Anthony Popolo (Ramsey N.J./Ramsey) all received Honorable Mentions.

Quarterback Hank Coyne (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford HS), receivers Aaron O’Brien (York, Pa./York Catholic) and Kirby Breault (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown), and linebacker Jonah Plymire (York, Pa/Central York) all received Honorable Mentions for their performances on Saturday against Muhlenberg.

    COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.- Nick Bonavita’s (Sheffield, Pa./Sheffield Area HS) interception with 20 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter stopped an Ursinus threat and secured a 21-17 win for Juniata on Saturday afternoon at Patterson Field. The win, which ends a four-game winless streak for the Eagles, puts their record at 2-4 overall and 1-4 in the Centennial Conference. The Bears also are 2-4 and 1-4 in the conference.

JHU remains undefeated at 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the Centennial Conference. The Eagles drop to 1-4 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

    LANCASTER, Pa.- Juniata scored first but host Franklin and Marshall put up 24 unanswered points as the Diplomats defeated the Eagles 24-7 on Saturday afternoon. F&M remains undefeated at 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial Conference. JC falls to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the Centennial.

This is Breault’s second weekly honor after previously earning Special Teams Player of the Week recognition from the Centennial Conference two weeks ago.

The Red Devils went up 10-0 in the first quarter and that was all they needed as Dickinson shutout the Eagles. Both teams’ records stand at 1-1.

The Eagles are coming off a 5-5 season a year ago and had their first back-to-back .500 or better seasons since 2001-2002. While 14 players depart, the team returns 73 with 35 new players joining the squad.
