HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College football placed four on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.  Senior Jared Shope (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area), juniors Ward Udinski (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) and Ethan Wilt (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area), along with sophomore Michael John (Osceola Mills, Pa./ Phillipsburg-Osceola), made the cut by maintaining a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.40 or higher while participating in at least 50 percent of the Eagles games.  The foursome did better than the 3.40 minimum, averaging a 3.64 GPA between them.

Shope started every game in 2013 on the defensive line.  The captain was named to a Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District team and was a Campbell Award semifinalist.  A First-team All-Centennial Conference selection, he forced two fumbles and was second on the team in sacks.  He will graduate this spring with a degree in accounting.

Udinksi was the only junior captain this season.  Like Shope, he started every game and was ranked nationally in 13 different categories including top 20 in points responsible for.  The second-team all-conference quarterback finished the regular season leading the conference in passing touchdowns, points responsible for and total offense. He has over 5,900 total yards of offense in his career.  Udinski is currently studying mathematics and management.

Wilt was one of the Eagles starting linebackers this year.  He finished the season second on the team in tackles and has 190 under his belt for his career.  Wilt has appeared in every game over the past three seasons and finished second in tackles in 2012.  He is currently studying politics with a secondary emphasis in history.

John is a newcomer to the academic honor roll.  The running back and wide receiver appeared in eight games this season. He had his best performance against Dickinson where he rushed for 72 yards, averaging 6.5 yards per carry.  He has the third highest total rushing yards of the tailbacks and finished fourth on the team in total offense.  John is currently studying business.
