HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College football team rounds out its road season at Centennial Conference rival Moravian College on Saturday, Nov. 9 at noon.  Juniata (5-3, 4-3 Centennial) has won two its last three games and is looking to close out the year reaching marks unseen by the Eagles for over a decade. 

 

Series History
This is the 58th meeting between the two programs and Moravian leads the all-time series 28-27-2.  The programs have been meeting since 1932, but this is only the third meeting of head coaches Tim Launtz and Jeff Pukszyn.  Juniata earned its first home win against Moravian since 2001 when they pulled out the 14-6 win last year.  The last time Juniata won two straight against the Greyhounds was in 2000-01.  The Eagles last won in Bethlehem was a 10-3 victory in 2009.

 

Academic Excellence
Senior Jared Shope (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team this week.  The defensive lineman was second team all-conference in 2012 and has started every game this season.  He is one of the team's captains and will graduate with a degree in accounting.

 

Breaking Records Without Breaking Stride
With is four touchdown performance in the win over McDaniel College on Saturday, Nov. 2, senior Zach McCaulley (Bellwood, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) is currently tied for fourth all-time in Juniata football's single-game record book for scoring.

 

All Or Nothing
All of the Eagles games this season have been decided by more than 15 points.

 

Toss Up
Juniata has done better this season after losing the coin toss.  They are 3-0 when it has gone the opponents way.

 

Getting it Done on the Ground
Juniata has to control the ground in order to increase its chances of success this season.  The Eagles are undefeated when they outrush opponents and are 3-0 when allowing fewer than 100 rushing yards.
