Kysor Recognized by Fred Mitchell Award

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College senior Ken Kysor (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) was recognized by the Fred Mitchell Award Tuesday for his performance on and off the gridiron during the month of October.  The organization acknowledges place-kickers for their excellence on the field and in the community during the months of September, October and November leading into the selection of a single award winner in December.  Kysor was one of eight kickers in NCAA Division III to be recognized.

 

"Heading into the last month of the regular season, we are delighted to recognize these place-kickers," said Fred Mitchell.  "These place-kickers had a wonderful month on the football field.  Their community service accomplishments are also impressive."

 

Kysor leads the team in scoring with 39 points and has gone 21-for-22 in PAT's this season.  The vice president for the Juniata College chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, he also volunteers at the Port Allegany Senior Center, delivers Meals on Wheels, and is a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician at the Port Allegany Fire Department.

 

The Fred Mitchell Award recognized 35 place-kickers for October.  They represented schools from 20 different states and included FCS, Division II, NAIA and NJCAA programs.
