HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata baseball dropped their last home game of the year against Gettysburg, 8-4, on a windy and chilly Monday afternoon at Langdon-Goodale Field.

The Bullets got on the board in the top of the first via a two-run double to center. The Eagles got one back in the bottom half of the inning.

Devyn Carper (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) led off the bottom half of the inning with a walk and stole second. He advanced to third on Larry Corle's (Martinsburg, Pa. / Central High School) sacrifice bunt. Carper scored on Adam Kipp's (Mt. Wolf, Pa. / Northeastern) grounded out to short.

Gettysburg added two more runs in the fourth before the Eagles added two of their own in the bottom half of the inning.

Ryan McClain (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville) hit a single to center and Sam Craig (Mullicahill, N.J. / Kingsway Regional) followed with a blast over the wall in left to pull the Eagles within one.

Gettysburg was threatening as they had the bases loaded with two outs. The batter smacked a ball through the right side but Corle made a diving stop and threw to first from the ground to end the inning.

In the bottom of the seventh, Kipp drove in Joshua Gery (Pottstown, Pa. / Pottstown Senior High School) from third to tie things at 4-4.

Gettysburg retook the lead with a run in the eighth before tacking on three more in the ninth.

Juniata will play at Penn College tomorrow. First pitch is at 1:00.
