Greyhounds Take Two From Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata baseball team dropped two games to Moravian, 11-2 and 12-0, on a sunny and windy Saturday afternoon at Langdon-Goodale Field.

Moravian pushed two runs across in the second inning to take an early lead. In the bottom half of the inning, Isaac Maclay (Belleville, Pa. / Mifflin County High School) led off with a triple to center field and was driven in by Jake Swank's (Portage, Pa. / Portage) single down the left field line.

The Greyhounds had a big fourth inning as they scored four more runs and they had a five-run inning in the sixth to push their lead to 10, 11-1.

In the bottom of the sixth, Swank singled to score Maclay from second to plate the second Eagle run of the game.

Game two was all Greyhounds as they scored a run in the first and added three more in the third to build an early 4-0 lead. A six-run sixth put the Eagles in 10-0 hole, with Moravian adding an additional two runs in the eighth to make it 12-0.

Rhett Jacoby and Connor Morro of Moravian held the Juniata offense to just three hits during the game.

The teams will conclude their weekend series tomorrow at 1:00 PM.
