HUNTINGDON, Pa.-The Juniata baseball team forced extra innings but could not grab the win as Drew outlasted them, 8-6 in 11 innings, Sunday afternoon Langdon-Goodale field.

The Rangers scored two runs in the second and added a run in third and the fourth as Juniata trailed 4-0.

In the bottom half of the fourth, the Eagles managed to get some runs across. Adam Kipp (Mt. Wolf, Pa. / Northeastern) led off with a walk and Isaac Maclay (Belleville, Pa. / Mifflin County High School) was hit by a pitch. Jake Swank (Portage, Pa. / Portage) advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt. Maclay reached third and Kipp scored on a wild pitch. Ryan McClain's (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville) double down the left field line plated Maclay to make it 4-2.

The teams traded zeros in the fifth and sixth innings before the Rangers tacked on a run in the seventh, and that would prove valuable.

Heading into the bottom of the ninth, Juniata trailed 8-5. After the first two batters were retired, Devyn Carper (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) reached safely on an infield single. Larry Corle (Martinsburg, Pa. / Central High School) was hit by a pitch. That set the stage for Kipp's three-run blast that knotted things at five, forcing extra innings.

Both teams went 1-2-3 in the 10th, but the Rangers used a RBI-single and a two-run homer to center to make it 8-5. Kipp's RBI single in the bottom half scored Sam Craig (Mullicahill, N.J. / Kingsway Regional), but JC could not get the additional two runs they needed.

Juniata returns to action Tuesday at Mt. Aloysius. First pitch is at 1:00.
