Eagles Fall in Final Game of Weekend Series at Scranton

Larry Corle went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored in the final game against Scranton.

SCRANTON, Pa.-The Juniata baseball team dropped the final game of the weekend, 9-2, at the University of Scranton, Sunday afternoon at Volpe Field. 

The Royals pushed one run across in the first on a sacrifice hit before an RBI-single and a RBI-double in the second had them ahead 3-0.  

Adam Kipp's (Mt. Wolf, Pa. / Northeastern) RBI-single to left plated Colton Kubicki (York, Pa. / West York) to get the Eagles on the board in the third. 

But Scranton kept coming as they scored two more in the fourth another three in the third to open up a 8-1 advantage. 

In the top half of the eighth, Larry Corle (Martinsburg, Pa. / Central High School) reached safely on a one out infield single. He got to second on a wild pitch before Isaac Maclay (Belleville, Pa. / Mifflin County High School) crushedan RBI-double to center. The Royals responded with an RBI single in the bottom half of the frame to complete the 9-2 score line.  

The Eagles will return to action, Wednesday at Wilson. First pitch is at 1:00.
