Eagles Fall In Non-Conference Action at Messiah

GRANTHAM, Pa.- The Juniata baseball team fell 8-4 at Messiah on a cloudy Wednesday afternoon at Starry Field.

The Falcons scored the opening run of the game in the bottom of the first on a RBI-single.

With two outs in the top of the second, Josh Keszczyk (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) singled up the middle and Ryan McClain (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) followed with an infield single. Devyn Carper (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) singled through the left side to score Keszczyk and Dillon Hippensteel's (Dillsburg, Pa./York Catholic) single through the right side allowed McClain to cross the plate. JC led 2-1 after two innings.  

Messiah scored four runs in the bottom of the third and another two in the fourth as they went up 7-2. 

The teams traded zeros until the Falcons pushed another run across in the eight to make it 8-2. 

In the ninth Isaac Maclay (Belleville, Pa./Mifflin County HS) smashed a two-run homer to left to complete the score line. 

The Eagles travel to play at Penn St. Altoona Friday at 1:00.
