Cardinals Capture Final Game of Series Against Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.– The Juniata baseball team dropped their final game of their three-game series against Catholic, 11-6, on Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinals put up three runs in the first before tacking on another four in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead. The Eagles battled back, scoring their first two runs off a single from Hunter Price (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) and Dillon Hippensteel's (Dillsburg, Pa./York Catholic) double. Chris Schreder (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) hit a double of his own to right field, allowing Carper to cross the plate. Zach Tobash's (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic)single to right sent Schreder home.

Catholic scored four more runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth to earn an 11-4 advantage.

Carper stole second after being walked and scored off Schreder's second double of the day in the seventh. The team attempted to rally in the ninth, Cameron Livingston (Blairsville, Pa./Blairsville) doubling to left and scoring after Ben Raab (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) singled to the outfield, but came up short dropping the game 11-6.

Juniata travels to Messiah on Tuesday. The first pitch is set to be thrown out at 4:00pm.
