Bridgewater, Va.- The Juniata baseball team lost both ends of a double header to Bridgewater, 9-4 and 3-0, Sunday afternoon at BC baseball field.

In the first game, Chris Schreder (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) went 2-4 with a double and two runs scored. Matt Innella (Commack, N.Y./Commack) went 2-4 with a run scored, Josh Keszczyk (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) went 2-4 with two RBI while Austin Suders (Marion, Pa./Chambersburg Area) went 1-3 with two RBI and a walk.

Bridgewater pushed four runs across in the first three innings as Juniata fell behind 4-0 before they managed a hit.

In the top of the fourth, with one out, Innella singled to left and Schreder followed with a single to center. Zach Tobash (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) grounded out to second advanced both runners before a Suders single drove them both in to halve the deficit. Bridgewater got one back in the bottom of the fifth, but JC was not done.

Bridgewater brought in a new pitcher and Schreder promptly ripped a double to left, Tobash walked and bother runners advanced on a wild pitch. Sudders walked to load the bases, but the next two batters struck out. Keszczyk singled to left to drive in Tobash and Schreder to pull Juniata within one at 5-4.

Bridgewater tallied four runs in the seventh and Juniata could not get any closer.

In the second game, Schreder went 1-3 with a triple, Isaac Maclay (Belleville, Pa./Mifflin County High School) went 1-2 with a walk while Dillon Hippensteel (Dillsburg, Pa./York Catholic) went 0-0 with two walks. Drew Harshbarger (Mount Union, Pa. / Mount Union) went 5.0 innings, allowed one hit, a walk and struck out four.

Back to back doubles plated two more runs for Bridgewater in the bottom of the sixth as they went up 3-0. Schreder tripled to right center to start the seventh, Maclay walked and then advanced to second on a ground out by Gavin Grimaldi (Clymer, Pa./Penns Manor). JC could not get the runners home as the final two batters flew out to foul territory in left and to center, respectively, to end the game.
