Baseball Falls to Elizabethtown 15-5

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Eagles dropped their conference game against Elizabethtown 15-5.

Juniata came out swinging in the first inning, scoring two runs off of three hits. Devyn Carper (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area HS) singled to left field to start off the inning and was followed by Chris Schreder's (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) double to left center, Carper putting the team's first run on the board. Devin McLaughlin (Monmouth Beach, NJ/Shore Regional) singled to send Schreder home for the second run of the inning. 

The Eagles' third run came on the third inning. Carper walked, and McLaughlin singled to right center to send him home. Shane Buss (Warrenton, Va./Highland) singled in the seventh and scored off of Carper's single to center.

In the ninth inning, Juniata attempted a two-out rally after Hunter Price's (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) single to short. Schreder singled to send Price home, but the Eagles were unable to make a comeback.

The team plays again tomorrow at noon against Elizabethtown.
