Eagles Fall to Greyhounds in Final Game of Series

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata Eagles fell to Moravian in the third game of the conference series 15-2.

Jumping out strong, JC took the lead in the first 2-1. Devyn Carper (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) started off the inning with a single through the left side and then stole second. Chris Schreder (Litiz, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) reached first with a walk and was put in scoring position when he and Carper both stole. Cameron Livingston (Blairsville, Pa./Blairsville) doubled to send the two home for the Eagles only two runs scored of the game.

The Greyhounds got ahead in the second putting up two runs, followed by two more runs in the third. Juniata held them at five until the seventh.

Kevin Starner (Manehim, Pa./Manheim Central) and Schreder each singled in the seventh for the only other hits of the game.

On the mound, Adam Kipp (Mt. Wolf, Pa./Northeastern) started the game for Juniata lasting into the fifth inning. Kipp struck out three and walked two.

Carper and Schreder are both at 27 hits for the season with Starner behind at 17.

The Eagles return to Langdon-Goodale field next Saturday, April 8 to face Drew in another conference series. Game one will begin at 1:00 PM with game two following at 3:00 PM.
