SELINSGROVE, PA- The Juniata baseball team wrapped up its three-game series with Susquehanna with a doubleheader on Tuesday. The Eagles dropped the first game 8-2 and fell in the second, 5-3.

In Game 1, Chris Schreder (Lititz, PA/Lancaster Catholic) went 2-for-3 with a RBI. Joe Klusman (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) finished 1-for-1 with a run scored.

Starting pitcher Chris Fulton (West Chester, PA/Unionville) lasted three innings and gave up 12 hits, eight earned runs, one walk, and struck out one. J.D. Weyant (New Paris, PA/Chestnut Ridge) came on in relief and surrendered three hits, walked one, and struck out one.

In Game 2, Jesse Beeler (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) lasted 5.1 innings and gave up seven hits, four runs (three earned) three walks and also struck out three batters. Caleb Pepperday (Phillipsburg, PA/Phillipsburg-Osceola) pitched 2/3 inning of relief and surrendered two hits and one earned run.

Juniata led 3-1 in the second inning. The Eagles had runners on second and third when Jacob Terry (Denver, PA/Cocalico) came up to bat. Terry reached on an error by the Crusaders third basemen and advanced to second on the throw, which allowed Klusman to score. A Schreder sacrifice fly scored Tyler Morris (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial).

SU scored twice in the bottom portion to tie the game up at 3-all. The score remained that way until the bottom of the fifth when Susquehanna added a run on a RBI single by Dylan Glassmire. Taylor Lukenbill's single in the bottom of the sixth made it 5-3.

Anthony Lombardo (Altoona, PA/Altoona Area) got on base in the seventh for Juniata with one out. Juniata, however, could not make a run as Eric Grace (Hopewell, PA/Northern Bedford) grounded into a double play and the inning and game was over.

The Eagles will look to regroup when they host their first games of the season this coming Saturday against Drew. The first of two games will be at 1 p.m. with game 2 following at 3 p.m.
