HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College senior catcher Greg Hoffman (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) has been named the Landmark Conference Baseball Player of the Week, for the week ending April 4.
Hoffman went 7-for-13 (.538) at the plate over the weekend to lead Juniata to a three-game series sweep of Drew University – Juniata's first three-game sweep of a conference opponent since taking three off the University of Scranton during the 2008 campaign. Hoffman capped the weekend by going 4-for-5 and belting a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to lift Juniata to a 6-5 win in the series finale.
Hoffman is batting .357 this season with five doubles and a team-leading 26 runs batted in. He is currently third in the Landmark Conference in total RBI.
Juniata (6-16, 4-5 Landmark) is at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on Monday, then has nine days off before returning to action on Wednesday, April 14, when it hosts Elizabethtown College at Langdon-Goodale Field.
