ANNVILLE, Pa. – Juniata College men’s and women’s cross country teams were once again led by the efforts of juniors Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) and Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) at the 40th Annual Lebanon Valley Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Alter finished the 8K race in 27:18.48 to clinch a third place finish overall and Woods came in fourth with a time of 19:09.94 in the women’s 5K, followed closely by senior Caroline Morgan (Havertown, Pa./Haverford Township) who finished fifth with a 19:18.68 time.
Ryan Trexler (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was the second male Juniata runner to cross the finish line with a time of 28:03.87 and David Holzbaur (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) was ninth overall with a time of 29:10.98.
The men, who scored 60 points, finished third out of 10 scored squads with an average time of 28:35.87, and the women combined for 97 points and finished fourth overall amongst 12 scored teams with an average time of 20:40.98.
The men’s and women’s teams will both host the Juniata Invitational next Saturday, September 15, beginning with the men’s race at 10:00 am and the women to follow at 10:30 am.
