Green and Woods named Landmark POW

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata women’s soccer midfielder Emily Green (Marietta, Pa./Donegal) and cross country junior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) were both named the Landmark Conference’s Player of the Week for their respective sports, released Monday afternoon.

Green earned the Landmark Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for scoring two goals and adding two assists, helping Juniata to three wins this week. The Eagles defeated Lycoming 1-0 early in the week before Green notched a goal and assist against both Keystone, 6-0, and Southern Vermont, 4-0. She earned the game-winner against Southern Vermont in the 48th minute.

Woods, who earned the Landmark Conference Women’s Cross Country Player of the Week nod, finished fourth individually at the Lebanon Valley Invitational 5K on Saturday afternoon. She finished the race in 19:09.94, helping the team to finish fourth amongst 12 scored teams at the meet.

Women’s soccer resumes play on Tuesday, September 11, against Pitt.-Bradford at Detwiler Memorial Field in Huntingdon, Pa., and men’s and women’s cross country will host a meet on Saturday, September 15, at Fort Roberdeau.
